Circles and psychotherapy groups
Psychotherapy rooted in the feminist approach invites practitioners and patients to demystify their work, allowing its fruits to flower beyond closed doors and increasingly into communal life. I often facilitate these gatherings with a kindred sister with other specialities in a spirit of transparency, reciprocal transformation, skill sharing, and an ongoing re-folking of support in our culture to include and transcend psychotherapy..
I offer both community-based circles and psychotherapy groups for women - while these spaces may share a sense of intentional gathering, they are distinct in purpose, structure, and the role I hold in each. If you are unsure which space is the right fit, I am happy to help guide you toward the option that best supports your needs.
CIRCLES
Women’s circles are spaces for reflection, connection, and shared presence. These gatherings invite a slower, more intentional rhythm—where listening, witnessing, and being with what is present can unfold in a grounded and self-directed way. Each circle may include simple journaling or art making prompts, moments of quiet reflection, and optional opportunities to share. There is no expectation to disclose personal material, and each participant is encouraged to engage at their own pace and in a way that feels appropriate for them.
Circles are non-clinical, community-based gatherings and are not psychotherapy. Participation does not establish a therapeutic relationship, and these spaces are not intended for the treatment of mental health conditions. While meaningful reflection and conversation may arise, circles are not designed for in-depth psychological or trauma processing. Participants are encouraged to seek support from a licensed mental health professional for personal mental health needs.
PSYCHOTHERAPY GROUPS
I also offer group psychotherapy for women seeking a more structured and clinically supported space to explore their experiences in relationship with others. These are for those who are supported by clinical assessment for mental health issues. These gatherings of women remain vessels of sacred privacy and are provided within the scope of my licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. They are designed to support therapeutic goals such as emotional awareness, relational patterns, and personal growth. Participation in a therapy group includes a formal intake process, informed consent, and ongoing clinical facilitation. These groups may involve deeper personal exploration and are appropriate for those specifically seeking psychotherapy in a group setting.
SPRINGMAIDENS - JULY 2026 (Non - clinical)
This is a weeklong in-person initiation for daughters ages 9-13 culminating in an optional ceremony for those anticipating or recently experiencing their first menses. Together, Alex Whyte and I will lead several days in nature culminating in a poignant mother daughter ceremony.
It is our hope that these Springmaidens will learn how to support their sisters with a strong and soft heart as they mature through and beyond this season of their development. This offering seeks to provide the relaxed yet reverent conversation about pubescence and periods most of us needed without yet exploring sacred sexuality.
Please note this group is through Alex Whyte’s Sisters of the Rose.
SUMMERMOTHER - Coming Soon - weekday morn!
This is a monthly in-person community circle intended for mothers of young children offering respite, reassurance, and reality checks. This is a place to explore the emotional range of motherhood from deep fulfillment to rage, grief, and regret.
This group addresses that demands of motherhood exceed the supply of bio/psycho/social/ and spiritual resources generally offered by modern atomized culture.
Our hope is for this group to provide a sanctuary for sharing absolutely all feelings around your motherhood but also to midwife the birth of a practical sisterhood of support that can step in when you need an extra set of trusted hands outside of our time together.
AUTUMNQUEEN - Coming Soon - weekday eve!
This is a monthly in-person circle for women in the perimenopausal season which usually begins in the mid-40s but can start in the 30s or 50s, lasting for several transformational years .
This time of midlife is often a revelation of one's deepest life longings and a reckoning with roles and relationships previously comfortable but now confining. Many experience this time as a second adolescence to culminate in a coming of age.
Well supported women often find this a rich and regal entering into their sovereign self discovering an unforseen respect for their embodiment resulting in improved body image and intimacy.
For those needing childcare, bring your little one in PJs for an organic farm to table dinner and oral story through the Twilight program $25 per child
WINTERELDRESS - Coming Soon - weekend day!
This is a day retreat experience for women who have not had their period for at least a full calendar year. You will meet a council of eldresses over 60 who will model the culmination and crown (crone) of female maturity in all its manifestations. We will listen and learn in large and small circles with art, song, ritual, and writing to consider the ultimate meaning of maturation and our mortality.
FIFTHSEASON CIRCLE - TBD
We invite women who do not have children to receive sisterhood from those whose fertile potential has/will be seeded by a gift other than a physical child. This group is welcome to those who are both celebrating and grieving this reality to provide a prism of perspectives in an attempt to embrace this journey in its totality - light and shadow. This group leads women toward recognizing their essential contribution to the collective and especially the public sphere in a culture which can marginalize this experience.
